A farewell to Maja Design :(

Hi there..

well .. today I am writing this post with some more sadness. As you have noticed the past week or so I have stepped down from most of my design teams for various reasons and today is my last post for Maja Design as well. :(

I have been on this team for 6 months now, and was Guest Designer back in December and worked with their products all of last year so I do feel like I know their papers well.

But the time came last month for me to make some changes.

My life right now is full on. There is literally no moments off, ever. ESPECIALLY during the day. It has been easy thus far to scrap during the say because babies sleep a lot and I was blessed with all 3 of my children being good sleepers day and night. So Sofia is now 1, sleeps less (which is great because I get out and do stuff before getting kids from school)  and I do not wish to miss out on precious time with her right now because I need to scrap, or feel sick and grumpy in the mornings because I stayed up late the night before scrapping. I mean, I still do , don't get me wrong LOL but I just cannot do it as often. I basically need to leave my days free and get some scrapping done at night .

The older girls are both in school, so we all know what that is like. Right now life for me is: Sofia full time during the day, Sofia + 2 more full time from 3:30 until 7:30 pm when they finally are asleep.
Some nights I feel like scrapping. Others not!
So changes needed to be made to find a balance.
I cannot give my creating up right now! NO WAY! This is my lifeline... I am happy to continue with Prima of course which starts next month, 7 Dots Studio which also starts next month and The Scrapbook Diaries and The Flying Unicorn for now . I think this will keep me busy enough for a little while...

I have also very sadly stepped back from my responsibilities at my challenge blog Once Upon A...Sketch which was a HUGE emotional decision for me.

I guess you could say I started feeling this familiar thing happening in my tummy lately.. the thing where you get nervous to create things and it starts to feel not so good .. I have had these feelings before and I let them go too long before acting on them , and reached the point where I burnt out.

So with all this, here is a card I crated for my last post at Maja Design.

It is dedicated to Jenny and Marie. THANK you both so much for having me on your team this year, for reserving a spot for me a year and a half ago, and for this great opportunity!

Saying goodbye to 13arts...

Good morning!

It is with a very heavy heart I say goodbye to one of my most favourite all time manufacturers 13arts. The time has come to move on to other things .... Some new Design Teams unfortunately clashed and something had to give :(

All I want to say is a HUGE thank you to Aida who I can now call a friend for having the faith in me from the start and keeping me on as long as she did. She  just a wonderful person ... A genuine , soft person . And she is soooo much like me in sooo many ways and she is someone I wish did not live on the other side of the world .
Sometimes I look back at my early work there and I cringe lol But Aida always encouraged me and always supported me and just like every other human on earth, I loved the positive reinforcement.

I love everything about 13arts.... The product, the Design Team, the happy and easy environment. It's a dream. Aida was so very generous. She would send me things to play with and I created my very best work while on this team.  Everything I created just came together effortlessly...  I always felt that my mixed media 'style' evolved with each month I was on this Design Team. I remember the first box I received ages ago was full of mists, art mediums etc and I had no idea what to do.. Now, 1 and a half years later 13arts is my go to manufacturer for almost every piece of work I create. I will forever cherish the time spent there and will always enjoy using their products. I enjoyed every moment there and I encourage you all to play along at their challenges and apply for their DT calls... It is one of the best places to be at!

So goodbye for now my lovely 13arts ...

One more layout with Maja Design

Hello everyone! How are you all going? I hope this post finds you well :)

This is my second layout for Maja Design for June. Once again, I used the neutrals from one of their collections Vintage Summer Basics.

Vintage-Summer-Basics-P

"Fly"

I love this colour combination because I feel that it makes the picture stand out. Especially when the picture is bright like that.

I used some modelling paste and stencils in the background and coloured the page with 13arts Yellow Amber mist. In some areas I watered it down so it looks lighter. If you are in Australia, you can now purchase this mist from Sassy Scrapper right HERE

The base paper is "1915" from the Vintage Summer Basics collection and I also used some scraps from a piece of "Mountain Ash" from the Walking In The Forest collection.

Paper: Maja Design Vintage Summer Basics "1915" and Walking In The Forest "Mountain Ash"
Mist: 13arts Yellow Amber from Sassy Scrapper right HERE
