The Craft's Meow Sneak Peak - **Its a Banner Day**

YAY! So excited to be showing you my very first project with the stamps from The Craft's Meow

A few stamp sets are being released on July 1st and each day for the next few days  the Design Team girls are showing a project on their blogs made with these stamps.

Today we are showcasing " Its a Banner Day" designed exclusively by Nina Brackett for The Craft's Meow.

You will be able to see/purchase the entire set on July 1st but for the time being here is my card that I created using the banner stamps..

I have used once again, Glitz Design Afternoon Muse papers, Whatnots and mini letters. I also used  Kaisercraft Blooms and Prima Pearls.

I stamped the banner images on Afternoon Muse - Banner paper using Staz On Permanent Ink Pad in JET BLACK and then trimmed around it.

So what would new release festivities be without chances to win prizes?

The Studio Challenges + some *exciting* news..

Hey everyone! Hope you are all well.

Well, I did go to the Sydney Craft and Quilt Show yesterday..but I think they need to just call it the Quilt Show! It was 98% quilts and 2% crafts  LOL! I was there for less than an hour but DID manage to spend a small fortune at the 2 scrapbooking stands there. I was SO happy to meet Andrew and Sophie Rossides though who are the owners of SCRAPMATTS. Not only are they based in Sydney and live around the corner from me, but they are Greek too! It was like talking to my aunty and uncle LOL! How proud am I?

If you aren't familiar, Scrapmatts are an Australian laser cut chipboard company who have their own ning site HERE and have an amazing international Design Team. I bought a few goodies yesterday and LET me tell you that they are amazingly priced and of really good quality and they ship overseas as well. You will be seeing their products on my pages in the weeks to come. I have previously used their chipboard HERE and HERE..

So I wanted to share one my Design Team layout that I have completed. This is for the current challenge at The Studio Challenges. The challenge is to...

Create a page about something you dislike about your job. Whether you're a full-time mother or employed by somebody else, what is the thing that drives you nuts?  Come on, everyone has something!'

Here is mine..

Everything here is from the May kit from Tidbitz In Time and just about every piece of material I have used here is Webster's Pages Spring Market

I chose to use this collection, because the multiple signs pointing at all different directions is a great representation of how I feel about juggling motherhood and work. This layout is based on the tough decisions I had to make when trying to decide whether to go back to work or stay at home with the kids. I was indeed at a crossroads, because I love my work, I had studied for so many years and of course the financial factor weighed in as well. Ultimately, the need and desire to stay with the kids won over and even when I went back to work recently I only work 2 days a week. I could not see my self as a career woman any more..not without sacrificing my emotional attachment with my children. I wanted this more than anything. I did not want to be a stranger to my kids or for someone else to raise my children. So this in the end, made the choice easy. I have included some hidden journalling at the top right about my feelings.

What do you hate about your work? Why don't you share it with us? Click on over HERE to see the other Design Team examples and hope you feel inspired to try this challenge.

(my photos of my layouts have been coming out a little blurry the last few days ..sorry about that!)

..................................................

OK..so I left my happy and exciting news to last!!

I have been busting to share this with all of you for a few weeks now and finally I can share with you that I have been invited to join the SUPER talented team at The Craft's Meow as a kit designer!!

Have you heard of The Craft's Meow?

The Craft's Meow is an American based company with an ONLINE STORE  thaoffers an array of stamps, kits and bits and bobs that will make your paper crafting more fun. They carry some amazing stamps  and I have just received some in the mail and cannot start playing!

I was asked by the owner, Lisa Hjulberg, to join this team of such talented ladies as a kit designer. At the moment the focus is on CARD MAKING...but I will be a kit designer of a different kind, to be revealed soon :o).

Just check out the team I will join...if you are not into card making you might not recognise some of these names, but let me tell you I am JUST a little nervous to be in this group of such high calibre people...

Webster's Pages June Challenge

Happy Saturday! Almost the end of the month and FINALLY able to finish some challenges I wanted to participate in so it doesnt feel like all I am doing is Design Team work.

The first I will share with you today is for the current challenge at Webster's Pages . We need to use the Yacht Club collection AND Webster's Pages Fabric Tickets. Because many of you email me with questions about specific products I use, I will start including links to the materials I use where I can. This will show you what each product looks like.

These are the Fabric Tickets I purchased from Handmade By Suzanne and have used on this layout.

This is a layout I wanted to do for a while and am just working on the same theme for my other daughter. Its all about their personality. Ioanna, my youngest, is Miss Personality. You can even tell in the her photos what a character she is. At least what she is like at nearly 3 years old. This is something that I want her to remember.

So some close ups...

As usual a lot of fussy cutting for the papers. I punched out some scalloped and plain circles and mounted them  on 3D dots  and then mounted Yacht Club stickers on top of them.

Here are some close ups of some flowers that I die cut using this ...

and I inked the centres with this

Here I used Yach Club Trim

and here I used  these flowers

Card Patterns #120

Good morning everyone! THANK YOU again for your overwhelming and beautiful birthday wishes. I was so sick for most of the day yesterday..what a way to spend your 1 special day in the year huh? Truth be told..I am one of those people that thinks that everyone should be special and celebrated every day and not just on birthday's, mother's days, father's days..etc. But still...it was pretty miserable having to spend the day in bed! That's OK though...we have plans for Sunday...

Speaking of Sunday..is anyone going to the Sydney Quilt and Craft Fair this Sunday? I was supposed to go today, but I am still sick so..the only day I can go is Sunday. OK, so its not going to be like the Brisbane Expo LOL! But it might be OK! Never been before..so if you happen to be there Sunday around lunch time and see me there, please say hello if you recognise me!

SO anyway..here is a card that I made for Card Patterns #120. You seriously need to check out this site. Its needless to say I am more than a little addicted. Even if you do NOT make cards, you will just be amazed at the talent out there and just what beautiful and detailed things people make. I am a HUGE fan.

Here is the sketch..

and here is my card

I have used Bo Bunny Gabrielle papers, stickers, chipboard and metal elements. I am not too sure what brand the ribbon is...

The sentiment is from this stamp set (Lovely Labels)

designed by the super talented Nina Brackett, who designs for Card Patterns as well.

Take care everyone and hope you have a good day!

Bye for now.
