7 Dots Studio January challenge

Hey there guys!

January's challenge over at 7 Dots Studio has now gone live and this time the theme is "Appreciate The Little Things"

Please check out the 7 Dots Studio website HERE for more details
and please check out the stockists for your country HERE

Today I used the brand new Thoughts Keeper collection designed by Olga Heldwein for 7 Dots Studio and here is what it looks like!

Here is my layout with this collection ..

I was really inspired by the warm and vintage like colours in this paper and the soft colours in my picture to create a layout about a simple lazy Saturday morning at our house with all 3 little kids watching TV. This is SUCH a little thing that happens in every day life in every home but i do often stop and think that there will come a time all too soon that this will not be such a common occurrence. So even though weekend mornings can be so hectic these are the little moments I want to try and remember :)

A new layout for 7 Dots Studio using Destination Unknown.

Hello friends!

I hope this post finds you well.

Back today to share with you my latest project for 7 Dots Studio

Please check out the 7 Dots Studio website HERE
and please check out the stockists for your country HERE

This time I have used the simply stunning Destination Unknown collection designed by Dee Dee Catron for 7 Dots Studio..

This is a little of what it looks like ..

Here is my layout with this beautiful collection.

2015 is going to be interesting. After 2.5 years off teaching I am starting back at work part time. It isn't just going "back to work" for me. It signals the end of an era. The last 9 years or so every time I went back to work I knew it was temporary as I was going to be off on maternity leave soon enough as we were planning more children. This time, I am going back knowing full well it is the last time I will be on maternity leave. Going back to my career now... Going back to a semi life "after" babies...  So the title for my layout is Destination Unknown (same as the beautiful collection I used) because although it sounds quite straight forward it really is very much the "unknown" for me as it is the beginning of the next chapter. What will this year be like trying to balance qork and motherhood? How will I grow as a person, teacher and mother? How will the kids handle me being away? Where will this all lead me?

New Art Ingredients by Finnabair for Prima!

Hi!

I LOVE working with all of Finns stuff for Prima.. seriously, everything! I love that it is different yet not TOO out there. I love the little pots, and the colours, the names and the way everything feels like second nature. I love it.

Today my card, which was created for CHA (yay!), is all about Finns mediums and little bit and pieces she has designed for Prima .

Materials List
12x12 white resists canvas Checker #960582
Art Ingredients Glass Glitter Copper #961640
Color Bloom Gold Foil #573805
Color Bloom Tea Stain #573836
Color Bloom Worn Leather #573829
Resist Chalk Edger Dry Sand #891176
Timeless Memories Flowers #580841
Timeless Memories Flowers #580902
Timeless Memories Metal Trinkets #579791
Elementals 7x9 Stencil Weaving #962333
Cling Stamp #580094
Jute Trim Mustard #576912

Metal Door Signs #892319
Art Basics 3D Matte Gel #961398
Art Basics Heavy Gesso White #961374
Art Basics Modelling Paste #961411

For this card I started with the resist canvas on the base and coloured that with Color Blooms.

Once that dried I worked on my background using stamps, the stencil and modeling paste before pulling some BEAUTIFUL flowers and embellishments from Timeless Memories collection and creating layers with those.

Lastly, the gorgeous Copper Glass Glitter, combined with the modelling paste gave such gorgeous texture to the card and an amazing contrast between the softness of the flowers and the roughness of the glitter.

Thank you all for dropping by today!

A video tutorial for 7 Dots Studio

Hello friends!

I hope this post finds you well.

Back today to share with you my latest project for 7 Dots Studio

Please check out the 7 Dots Studio website HERE
and please check out the stockists for your country HERE

Today I used the just released Soulmates collection and here is what it looks like..

Here is a card I created using this collection

The beautiful soft pastel teal colour was my starting point with this card and I absolutely LOVED the damask stencil. It is so elegant and makes for a great background. Adding some bolder turquoise and teal mediums and some flowers with the same tones made the colours in the collection pop.

You will also find a step x step on how I created this card on my You Tube Channel HERE or watch it below

Layout with new Archivist collection from Prima

Good morning! How are you all doing? Everything is going well here.

Today I wanted to show you a layout created from Prima Marketing using the just released Archivist collection designed by Frank Garcia.

Through the papers I have used in my layout below, you get a sneak of what the collection looks like but you will find all the coordinating papers, embellishments etc at the Prima blog HERE

 Prima Products
Archivist paper- F+W #990213,
Art Extravagance- Texture Paste Gold Crackle #961558,
Art Extravagance- Copper Crackle #961534,
Art Ingredients- Mica Flakes Henna #961732,
Art Ingredients- Mica Flakes Gold Leaf #961732,
Color Bloom- Gold Foil #573805,
Color Bloom- Tea Stain #573836,
Color Bloom- Worn Leather #573829,
Finnabair -Cling Stamp Rust & Dust #962050,
 Memory Hardware Pearls #990398,
FInnabair Mechanical Flowers #962333,
Flowers #581213,
Finnabair- 7x9 Stencil Weaving #962333,
 Lace Stickers #572280,
Engraver Wood Buttons #564964,
 Cartographer flowers #574529

Using Finns modelling paste, together with her Gold Mica Flakes it is really easy to add texture and layers to a layout.

Just above you can see where I used them and you can also see I used some of Finns new mixed media stamps (OMG! LOVE LOVE LOVE them!) to build up some layers. I then used the Color Bloom spray right on top which adds more pop and more dimension.

Just above I used a globe from the new Memory Hardware collection also by Frank Garcia for Prima which is one AMAZING collection of embellishments, flowers, albums , trims etc...

I also used Finns modelling paste with her new stencil for Prim which is being released this CHA.

The wire I used to frame my photo is also from Prima.
When you have a busy page like this , I find the picture can get lost among it all so using a wire or thread to frame the picture draws attention back to it.

And here again is a close up of some of the Gold Mica Flakes and the modelling paste.

I hope you have been inspired somewhat :)

Thanks for popping in today !

xoxo Nadia
