The Flying Unicorn and 7 Dots Studio!

Good morning friends!

This month The Flying Unicorn and 7 Dots Studio is having a cross promotion and as Creative Member for The Flying Unicorn I was very lucky to work with the new collection from 7 Dots Studio "Illumination". This collection is available at The Flying Unicorn right HERE

"You Light Up My World"

This is a picture of my 2 older children and my husband at Sea World in Queensland this year. The colours in my picture matched PERFECTLY with the colours of the background paper. Love it when that happens!!

So let me walk you through some steps.
As with every layout I create these days, I start by adhering my base paper to a 12x12 piece of chipboard. I then apply CLEAR GESSO over the base paper.
This is for a couple of reasons:
 1) I apply CLEAR Gesso as it provides the same effect as normal white Gesso but it is clear which means you get to see more of the background paper.
2) Clear Gesso also provides a non porous surface which means that my colours will not soak through into the paper. They will stay more vivid and I will also be able too manipulate them before they dry.
It also provides a "grip" for the art mediums I will add to my page.
3) The chipboard and clear gesso also allow for the paper not to warp as much.

You will see here in the background, I used the Embossing Paste with The Crafters Workshop 6x6 Circle Regiment stencil to create the design in the background. I also used the Embossing paste on my Dusty Attic Geometric Border chipboard, before colouring it with Silks Acrylics Paint in Sunburst The Dusty Attic Geometric border is one of my absolute favourite things to use these days. I kind of have used a bit everywhere. It is a new release from The Dusty Attic and it is available at The Scrapbook Store HERE

For my background colours, I used a mixture of 13arts Lime Pastel Mist, Heidi Swapp Turquoise Mist, and yellows from Tim Holtz Distress Stains

This title was cut on my Silhouette Cameo and it is a Tanya Batrak design. I coloured it with Distress Ink in Broken China

So I hope you have been inspired today :) Let me know if you have.... I love to hear about it :) You can email me at nadiac78@hotmail.com or drop me a message on my Facebook account HERE

Bye for now !

Another layout and Designer Kit for The Scrapbook Diaries

Hello! I am excited to be back today to share with you my next layout for The Scrapbook Diaries.

Have you heard of The Scrapbook Diaries? Besides having an AMAZING online store , they also sell Designer Kits and have a very inspiring blog. There is no Design Team as such, but the owner invites designers from around the world to create projects that ALWAYS includes a video/stepxstep tutorial and essentially create their own "Designer Kit".

There are no subscriptions to anything. You just visit the store here and choose what page kit you would like. With each kit you get the tutorial as I mentioned, as well as enough materials to create TWO layouts. You can choose from different options such as the full kit that will include EVERYTHING or a couple of other options that include less items in case you already have some of the things included.

So here is the layout I created this month.

If you like the look of this layout and wish to recreate something like it, you will find everything that is needed PLUS a step x step video in the kit HERE

I hope you have been inspired today :) Let me know if you have.... I love to hear about it :)

A canvas and cards with The Flying Unicorn Kit Of The Month!

Hi everyone!!!

It has been a wonderful time working with the April Kit Of The Month and add ons from The Flying Unicorn this month! Today I am showing you my last projects with the stunning kit!

I must say I ALWAYS love the things I make with the "left overs" of a kit. I kind of feel SOOOOO free to just throw everything in there and see what happens LOL

So the next 2 projects include Everything from the Kit Of The Month and the add ons :)

"Hello" canvas

and here are 2 cards I created with the kit too...

I have SO enjoyed working with 7 Dots this month and all the wonderful pieces in the Flying Unicorn kits!!! You should really check them out :)

Thanks so much for coming by :)
Love, Nadia

A layout for The Dusty Attic .

Well good morning. I am hoping you are all well and creating up a storm.

I have one more creation to show you today. This time it is for The Dusty Attic .

"Love That"

OK OK ... so let me tell you as much as I LOVED the combination I mentioned above, well this layout almost ended up in the bin. I think I tried to do too much and it ended up looking too buy. So what's a girl to do with little time to create anything else AND hearing the baby stir on her sleep which meant I probably wouldnt get back to this for a few days??? well.. God's gift to stressed out mums.. "GESSO"  LOL Yes, once everything had dried and once baby settled again for a few more minutes, I applied white GESSO all over the stenciled background and started again. Thank you dear God :)

Here are some closeups..
